PWW Cutting Board Info

Curious how PWW cutting boards are made?

Exclusively Made

PWW end grain cutting boards are personalized with a unique number that is never duplicated, making each board truly unique.

No Standard Size

PWW end grain cutting boards are not mass produced. They are designed to optimize the use of lumber. Rather than cutting off more than needed to achieve a "standard size", PWW cutting boards only  trim off what's necessary to square the edges and provide a clean cutting surface. This is not only PRACTICAL, it reduces waste. Each custom end grain cutting board is listed with dimensions to the nearest 1/8" so you know exactly what you are getting.

Fairly Priced

PWW cutting end grain cutting board pricing is pretty simple. There is a fixed cost to make and ship each board plus a variable cost based on cutting board size (board feet) and type of wood. My overhead is low which allows me to charge much less than a commercial retailer. Cutting boards may help you save money when making home cooked meals - click here to read more.

Locally Sourced

All PWW lumber is sourced from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The mills often get their supply from storm damaged trees, nuisance trees, sustainably managed forest groves, and trees that have reached the end of their journey.

Robust

PWW end grain cutting boards are known for their weight and sturdiness, providing a stable surface for cutting. This is the main reason a kitchen bench scraper is included with all cutting boards.

Designed to Last

All PWW end grain cutting boards come with pre-installed feet. This allows for air circulation under the board. Water stuck between the cutting board and counter surface could cause the wood to warp. Read more about Care and Use.

Made Right

PWW end grain cutting boards are assembled using Titebond III (product link to Amazon) wood glue which is waterproof and FDA approved for indirect food contact.

Finished with Care

To minimize the impact of water on the cutting and provide a smooth finish, every cutting board goes through several "grain raising" steps.

Ready to Use

All boards are treated with two coats of food grade mineral oil plus a coat of Cutting Board Wood Conditioner made from only mineral and beeswax.
